TRAVEL TIPS

Subway Travel

The orange-colored Broad Street Line (BSL) runs from Fern Rock Station in the northern part of the city to Pattison Avenue, aka AT&T Station, in South Philadelphia, where Citizens Bank Park, the Wells Fargo Center, Lincoln Financial Field, and XFINITY Live! are located. The blue-colored Market-Frankford Line (MFL) runs across the city, from the 69th Street Transportation Center in the western suburb of Upper Darby to Frankford in Northeast Philadelphia.

Sunday through Thursday, most trains on the BSL and MFL begin suspending service for the evening between midnight and 1 am, resuming around 5 am. During these times, “Night Owl” buses operate along the same routes. On Friday and Saturday nights, both lines run continuously throughout the night. While subway travel in Philadelphia does have its limitations, it’s a safe, accessible, and affordable way to maneuver around the city without the cost and hassle of driving and parking.
